Any experience?

Anybody tried spec clutches in our cars. I need to put a new clutch in my car and thought I'd get one that holds a little more power and torque. I know that project car magazine uses spec clutches and they are at a fairly cheap price. Just wondering if they failed quickly or easily.

I would like to go with an exedy but they are usually pretty expensive. The spec clutch is a pretty good deal and I don't need anything that will hold significant power sinc ethe car is basically stock. I know mazdatrix sales the exedy stage 1 for a decent price. Does anyone know any specs on it like how much power it can hold?

Clutch does not increase your power output.

if your car is stock I dont see any reason to go with aftermarket heavier clutch setups. its just a waste of money.

I use Exedy Clutch, its durable and it has everything from mild to wild. Its not expensive like batmanfc said, you just need to know where to find good deals.

I know that it doesn't increase power output but I don't want to buy a stock oem clutch with plans of making more power in the future. It seems pointless to me to replace a clutch I have just put in. Thats why I was asking. Where have you found the best deals on the exedy clutches?

you can try the for sale section of the forum. Usually some good stuff in there.

I have a Spec stg. 1 clutch in my car, and it's been fine for 15k miles. It will hold all the power the stock turbo is capable of throwing at it. The only complaints I've heard about Spec clutches in general have been about some of the puck-style disks, which aren't intended to last that long anyhow.

Awesome. I was hoping for the price that they were good. I have heard some good and some bad, but I know everything is like that. I figured I'd ask for people that would know first hand.
