antenna, replace stock or get rubber

was looking to replace my broken antenna (the mast is broken, motor works fine) and I noticed mazdatrix sells a rubber replacement antenna. I'm wondering if maybe this would have better reception than the stock one?

Not sure. but i Didnt like the rubber ones and i didnt want to pay 65 bucks for a new after market mast cause my plastic gear broke inside.. my mast is fine. But i just spent 10 dalla on a metel stainles steal car phone looking antenna..Looks GREAT i get all my stations

replace the mast, looks better than rubber replacements and isn't hard to change, just my 2cents

hey thanks for the faq, I managed to break off a good part of the mast and just pulled out the chain with it, I'll check tomorow about removing the rest of it and make sure the motor does indeed work like I was told.

The rubber masts suck for reception.. as posted many many times, for the best FM reception in North America you need a mast 31 inches tall, and for the best AM recpeton as tall as possible.

Rubber ducky antenna's are way way too short to get any decent recption.
