Another what is it...
I was stripping out the interior of the stuff that I consider unnecessary to the mission for the car. Under the passenger side carpet right under the middle of the seat is a little thing with two wires coming out, mounted right to the floor. It is the size of a stack of 6 or 7 nickles. What is it and do I need to keep it? I am removing:
Stereo (I have new seats anyway)
power operation of conv. top
foglights
power mirrors
I am even unwrapping the wiring harness and completely pulling all the associated wiring right back to the fuse block, so If it isn't necessary for the car to run or has anything to do with the above defunct crap I want it gone.
Also there is a wire from the Ebrake, I think to stop you from using the top if you're moving. I can't remember, If I pull that, will a (BRAKE) light on the dash come on?
BTW all the switches associated with those items look perfect and work properly and are for sale. The convertible top switch is only a few months old from the dealer. It did not fix the problem and the dick wouldn't take it back. PM me if your interested.
Thanks.

Thanks guys.
I don't have a cat anymore. Is it OK then to get rid of it? The only reason I would keep it is if an idiot light will come on if its gone.
Hey since I got rid of the cat, can I loose some of the heat shielding too or will the downpipe still be too hot?

It operates the dikfore. In all honesty, it is for the cat. sensor. Yes you can remove some of the heat shielding, although I know the pass. floor in my TII gets kind of hot at times. I doubt it will get hot enough for you to complain though, or to do any serious damage.
