Good Ol n20 on t2 motor ?

Okay my motor is shot in my 1st gen and I am thinking about swaping out a 89 t2 13b into it... now I have a carb intake header ect for it... and am wondering how much n20 the motor can handle stock with no boost... I have heard of people puting a 125 shot on a stock t2 motor and getting 346 rwhp with no boost... I am thinking a 125-150 wet shot running a carb setup with and now boost... I know you can run like 15+ lbs of boost on the block stock... same concept really just adding more air and fuel into your motor...what you guys think?

Be careful. Make sure you hav LOTS of fuel, so that you do not run lean. Lean+n2o=KABLOOIE! Dead engine. Are you planning on taking the turbo off? What do you mean "0 boost?"

Nos is not a good idea to be what makes the HP on your car. I know its the easy way to get 300 who but you might also want to consider running a turbo system. Why not? You are already swapping in the 89 t2 engine, y ou might as well bolt up the turbo and intercooler. Then get the computer and harness. NOS it unreliable and you are going to be making something thats already unreliable more unrealiable. That dosent equal out. If you want to run NOS then why not rebuild the 12a with a nice bridge port. A friend of mine has a 12a starlet with 100 hp NOS (bridgeported) that runs 11.96

Yes I was planning on runing NO TURBO AT ALL on the motor... Why??? well I have a header for it 1... AND the well what is the point of nitrous??? well n20 is 33.33333...% oxegen you throw a controlled shot into the motor and add more fuel= bigger boom... same thing with the turbo add more Air= adds more oxegen+more fuel makes bigger boom... the turbo is the more expensive way to go about this... From what I can see... when I get the $$$ I am going to build a turbo motor but until I got 6k or so I dont think I will... I figure I can do this for WAY under $1500... Motor and all... Useing a stock jspec t2 motor...

So you are doing n2o till you go turbo? Sounds fine to me. Personally, I am planning on going port job, and better apex seals, and n2o on my 91 n/a. I want to see what I can do hp wise, and stay turbo free! You can go pretty high with your shot, if the engine is ok, since you have a strong TII drive train. Good Luck, and don't blow your self up!

well im not sure of where i read this on the net but our engines actually respond well to n2o just because of there design. just think about how you r running the nos. a shot to big from the get go will have bad affect on the parts but if you were going to set up a system to add more slowly large power gains can be had. maybe 50 or so for every 1000 rpms starting at 2 go to 9 thats a 300 hundred shot. now think about a large turbo that doesnt respond well to the normal exhaust pressures of your car but will flow well enough exhaust so your car will run well but now you have all that exhaust pressure building much faster when you hit the n2o?!!!?!?!?!?!? now u have a sleeper, runs good when just driving but is a beast when the guy to the left of you thinks he can beat you till all he sees is the tails of your car.

ps. this motor idea is not from the the web site i said in the beginning but from this messed up head of mine that just thinks of crazy ideas that if were done correctly could make a wonderful street/race car.
