Another......Tach Problem
OK so, First: Problem, i just finished changing my clutch and started my car last night to take it on the first break-in drive. the battery is pretty old and it needed a jump when iput it back in. I took it maybe 5 miles around the neighborhood, i hit a corner a little fast and slipped the tires SLIGHTLY and the tach died. So i take it home, turn it off, turn it on, it works!.....10 seconds later......dead again.
Ive narrowed it down to either
Slow cranking causing the ecu to shut down the trailing coils (read it on this forum)
Bad trailing coils
Bad ground, somwhere? (ive checked all my wires and grounds)
Cold solder joints in the instrument cluster
thats all i have been able to find. I will test all of these today, just wondering if i missed something
Thanks in advance

Checked battery = 12.25v <- LOW
Checked Trailing coil when tach dies and CEL pops up = Coils went from 2.3-3.6AC or so to .1 or nothing
My guess is new battery, the battery i have is OLD and is low on voltage, so, we'll see i guess, could use a new battery anyways, just, im so ******* broke already from the clutch it isnt funny, lol

i bought a new optima red top battery today and will be installing a nice 24k gold plated positive terminal, and probably another one for the ground.
Seems as though the battery didnt do much, it cranked almost healthy a few times today, none of which were when i first put the battery in or have any consistancy
The tach stays on most of the time at idle, but as soon as i add a load it dies within a few minutes all the way down to a few seconds, no consistancy with when it dies
given the symtoms im going to rule out cold solder joint in the cluster
gonna check grounds the next chance i get and im gonna also check the starters connections and ground
Any other suggestions are welcome
