another starting issue...
Hi i have a 1990 vert with an 89 turbo motor swap, i drove the car one day for about 20-25 minutes, let it sit for about less than a day and then the next day it wouldn't start but it would try to turn, so i figured maybe it flooded i tried the procedure of removing the egi holding the gas down and cranking it then replacing and starting no good.
Next i tried the "complex" unflooding method with putting atf fluid in the leading spark plug holes and still nothing. My question is how long should i be cranking it when the plugs are out and i checked for spark my plugs seem to be firing...is there something im doing wrong or did my fuel pump take a crap on me?

With an S5 you don't actually have to pull any fuses before trying to clear a flood. When the ECU sees the TPS max out (pedal on the floor), it cuts fuel injection on startup. Did you floor the pedal after you replaced the fuse? If so, it makes sense that it never started.
Does it try to catch at all? I've never needed to crank one over for more than 5-10 seconds to clear a flood. Giving it a little bit of throttle can help get it started.

sounds like classic flood. i have a cut off fuel switch so it kills fuel supply, anyway good pratice to have a new set of plugs handy too. i remove plugs crank motor (fuel vapor comes out) install new plugs and for me the does it. never tried putting atf fluid in the leading spark plug holes. i have used wd40 (not much) that seemed to work for me good luck prob. nothing major

It could be a lack of fuel. Not enough being injected when starting. Spray starting fluid into the air filter for no more than two seconds and start the car. If it starts up .........question if the thing is getting enough fuel during start.
Kicking any codes? Like a water thermosensor code?

well i tried the starting fluid and it didn't help, doesn't look like any of the fuel lines are pinched or anything of that sort. I changed the battery with a fresh one and i guess i should try to keep deflooding by removing spark plugs, cranking. or should i try a pull start?

Well...............if you know you have spark..............and if you remove the RETURN fuel line off the engine and fuel pours out when the key is ON and the fuel pump check connector is jumpered causing the pump to run all the time...........then pull start it. Might as well. If it won't pull start after a couple of tries............not good.
