i think you have some vacuum problems. first off check your brake booster vacuum source. do you hear any sucking noises like air ? when you crank it.... double check and make sure everything is connected properly

Check your alternator, it could be the problem

NO THE ALTERNATOR IS NOT THE PROBLEM !!!. you may have to pull start your car for it to start. your rebuild may not have enough compression built up yet for the starter to crank it over. then check the brake booster. you may just have to drive it around once for the brakes to re adjust.

The starter moves but the engine will not rotate? Are you sure? This is near impossible, and would mean that either the starter gear is stripped, or the flywheel ring gear is broken exactly where the starter is positioned.

Or are you saying that engine turns over (spins), but doesn't start?

Go through the unflooding procedure, and introduce some oil into the chambers to help build up compression. If you must, push start it, but use that as a last option since it is dangerous and annoying...Make sure the CAS isn't one tooth off (very easy to do)...

Have you checked for both spark and fuel?

Whoa, calm down...Take one thing at a time.

No spark: check the connection at the CAS, and test the CAS using the procedure in the Haynes manual or factory service manual.

If that CAS checks out, test for 12V at the ignitors. Procedure in either manual. Good?

2nd problem: key. Find your key. Trust me. Don't **** around with a screwdriver becasue it will just cause more problems.

Oil lines: Yes, that's normal. It's difficult to tell if there is actually oil in there, but once the car starts running, they should darken slightly.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet but three squirts of automatic trans. fluid in each top spark plug hole got my rebuild going when it was really flooded, so if yours spins (and has spark) but doesn't start, it is probably just low compression and being flooded. Mine wouldn't go with only one drop, but three drops and the gas pedal held down 1/4 the way gave it enough bark to get going.
