another "not idling issue"
another "not idling issue"
alright this is what i have
86 rx7 n/a
originally auto swapped out for a 5speed
removed all emissions
gutted cats
a/c and ps still intact
s5 lower fuel rail
problem: will not idle under 3500rpm, it jumps up to 1500 rpm starting it up then after a sec or two it will just die. any suggestions? ive done all i can, bumped up the idle needle to its highest, its running on full rich and still nothing.

i dont think its the tps, it was tested and set before i put it in. but i may have found my problem. a large vacuum leak in the intake plenum. im going to go buy some plugs before i get home and try it. it does try to idle when i plug them up with my hands so im guessing that's it.
Did you take the BAC valve off? You need that. Obviously this is a classic example of why you can't just take everything off the engine and think its going to work the same.
It's not a 12A carbed. The ECU actually needs some of that stuff to run the engine.
What exactly did you remove? Pictures could help as well for this problem. Maybe someone will spot an obvious mistake in one of them.

the BAC helps maintain idle when under load... i.e. A/c, turning headlights on...
that has nothing to do what what the OP is having trouble with. i could see if maybe the car was holding idle and he flipped on the A/c and the car dies... then maybe.

i havent gotten around to getting the plugs yet, ill do it tomorrow. it does try to idle when i plug up the holes with my hands. also i dont think it's the bacv since the only load i have on it right now is ps. i might have to put the bacv during the summer just so i can use the a/c.
but yea i took off EVERYTHING emissions related, also it is a 4 port turbo block with na manifolds. reason i used a 4port is because i figured itll last me a little longer using it as a drift car. i mean, na tolerances on a turbo 2 block without boost. just experimenting with ****.

argh its still not idling. i have the bacv and its still the same symptom. doesnt even wanna idle under 2k.
is it possible that i have the primary injectors plugged in backwards and cause this issue? i dont wanna have to take the manifold apart again.

yea i figured but i am now getting fuel but it seems like my leading coil isnt working. everytime i gas it while at idle it doesnt do anything just bogs. i replaced the tps with a working one and still nothing.
there are no vacuum leaks of any kind, plugged up all the holes except the breather and "right stuff" on all the block off plates and intake gaskets.
heres a video of what i mean.

emissions removal, transmission swap and rewired the fuel pump. if the weathers not too bad tomorrow i was planning on bypassing the fuel filter and see if that's the culprit. im just eliminating things as i go and so far progress has been good.
as of right now it kinda idles under 1000-800 if you keep it from dying. as before it wouldnt idle anywhere under 3k-2k.
