another flush mount headlight kit in development.. take a look

ok, well, my car is at raceonusa right now for R&D on a new flush mount headlight kit..... this one should be a little different though, as it will not be a huge bulky light..... i went there today and snapped some shots of the progress.... also, here is a link to a few pics of a "in the works" prototype

http://www.raceonusa.com/index.asp?P...OD&ProdID=5361

The difference will be you probably can't see at night. Those lights look totally inadequte. Have you actually run them side-by-side with the stock lights to compare?

i have nothing to do w/ the development.. i just lent them my car but they did say that they wernt using fog lights, they started w/ a aftermarket 240sx kit they had lying around, and are using it as a base..... they said they were looking for a good light source that will fit in there... so if anyone has a link to a good light, post it, and ill send it to them

from what I can gather from the pics it looks like it could turn out pretty good. Now if they can keep it under $250...

So....they're doing the development on your car.....but they have no idea what light they're going to put in it? Seems.......odd.

why does that seem odd? this is why it is "still in development"

I to love the flush mount, but dont care for the gay looking fog light. it really just wont cut it as a "headlight" but I am sure I will be happy when I see it in person with a much better light in there. so far so good. it's gona look frigin sweet! I cant wait till it's done Jesse.

you won't get any good light from that design mainly because the bottom edge of the beam is cut off from shining on the road, basically the light pattern will only be aimed at the road a ways in front of the car and those lights look inadequate as many said. i bet it would be dangerous to drive at night with those lights.

for Vipers it's not to big of a deal as he rairley drives his car at night. his FC is a weekend warrior not a daily driver.

none the less it is still pretty cool!

that does look like a good idea for weight reduction though, removes about 15lbs from the very front end of the car.

hope you don't mind, but i brightened you pic up a bit. I like the way it looks however i will need to see it on the car to make my final judgement.

take care,
Ryosuke

yeah, i agree that as of right now, the lighting will be inadequate... BUT, they are only in the beginning stages of development... while i was there, i happen to notice that there were a few different types of light housings lying around my car

I dunno... my main problem with them is the small hole in the middle of the piece effect. That just looks... odd... The other conversions change the entire kits change the entire plate so it looks ok, but this one seems like you just cut a hole in your cover.

Seems "odd" to me that you would spend all the time devoloping a flush mount light kit, and not even have an idea of what headlight, if any, was going to be used. I'd seem to think, you'd find the brightest/smallest headlight on the market, then make your design to fit that.
