Angry Am I getting screwed???

I took my car to Cartek for oil leaks and they kept it for 10 days, finally saying I needed a ps rack overhaul, ps hose and lower oil cooler line.

Fine I said. Do it.

$600+ later, I got it home and there was a huge pool of new ps fluid under the car and the pump was half empty.

I took it back and they looked and looked and it seemed to be a not tight hose.

They took off the valance, cleaned it like new, tightened the ps hose topped off the fluid.

It was dry for 2 days, for my ride to Naples from Miami, so I felt confident to drive it from Miami to Atlanta and then the Blue Ridge Mountains.

It dumped the fluid in my friend's driveway in Atlanta.

I called them when I got back and they said bring it in 10/28

Sat I took it to Goodyear for an oil change, and to check for leaks, and they came back with an estimate for a ps steering rack overhaul (LOL) as the left inner boot was shredded, and oil cooler lines.

WTF do I do now????

If the inner boot was shredded....sounds like you might have run over something. It was a brand new rack that went on your....i was there went it came in and saw them install it. Sorry you had all that trouble but I can vouch for the shop they are not trying to rip you off.

ran over something the same day? wouldn't tranny fluid in the ps cause the boots to deteriorate to the point where merely turning the wheels would tear it? there is no other evidence of running over anything.

Cartek is replacing the overhauled rack with a new one, and replacing new oil cooler line's washers, all at no charge.
