Aluminum, Carbon Fiber or Mazdatrix Aluminum driveshaft question
Does the yoke stick out of the transmission far enough that the U-joint isn't under the shifter housing? I needed a custom driveshaft for the RX-8 rear end swap I'm doing, so I referenced this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...shaft-1081644/ and ordered one from PST. Now I couldn't use the L2 dimension from the FSM because mine needed to be longer. I spaced it to what I thought was the pull out of the stock shaft apporx. 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch. When I got it in it doesn't work. It is the length I wanted but the ears the u-joint goes into( on the driveshaft, not the yoke) hits the bottom of the shifter housing. I'm using the 1310 conversion joint like in the thread and the same as Mazdatrix. Their design of the ears looks different so I wondered it theirs clears or if they have their yoke further out of the transmission? Same question to anyone with a custom driveshaft using a 1310 joint.
Thanks.
Thanks.

So I called Mazdatrix today. They have their U-joint further out of the transmission so that it's not in under the shifter housing. So problem solved I have to send it back and have it shortened.
