Aluminum driveshaft

Ok, I did a search and found some info on aluminum driveshafts but not what I was looking for. I am trying to shed some weight and was wondering how much the stock driveshaft weighed? I found an aluminum one that was about 12lb's for 450.00 which beat the 10lb carbon fiber for 900.00 . Do you think the aluminum driveshaft is worth the money?

My friend has been looking into upgrading his 2 piece shaft on his 300ZX TT. From what he's found, there is a lot of vibration issues. Most people that he has talked to said that they have had to return and return the drive shafts to get one with vibration they could live with. I'm not sure about 7's, but that's what the 300 guys say.

Not sure what the stock shaft is made of, but last year when I tested mine, a magnet would not stick.

Stock Drive shaft is spun aluminum, no real advantage to changing it unless you have 900 bucks laying around.

Thanks guys, It looks like it would be a waste of money and just for the record one of the post said the stock driveshaft only weighs 14lb so 450.00 for 2lb wouldnt be much of an advantage. Thanks for all the help
