Question ALTERNATORS: Can you suggest a good aftermarket one?

I'm looking for a high amp aftermarket alternator. I think stock is 70amps? I need something higher. Links and suggestions much appreciated. Thanks

nobody makes one... the easiest is the FD swap. which is 100amps. but takes some work to get in.

There is a shop up in san jose that modify alternators. I will have to look thru my paper work. I have one that is modified to 140. I will post the address information once I can find it.

could you get a capacitor (like monster cap) and hook it to your battery? what're you needing the extra amps for?

You mean those alternators drop-in and plug-in to all the stock stuff?&nbsp It looks like GM or Ford cases to me.

Did you get a stock unit rewound by them or something?

Someone I find that these alternators are anything close to fitting "perfectly" - mind you if you post what exactly you did to get these units to work in your FC?

The pricing page has a listing for adapters and connectors. They need your make and model, presumably so they send all the right hardware.

How much amperage can you safely run in an FC? Is there anything else you need to do to make the application work properly.

He is local to us and build for sound-off vehicles. He owes me a favor also. Email me and I'll hook you up. He'll build it in a stock RX7 alt case for you.

Yes, but for high amperage output, it's safer to use external regulators. For all internal, you want to limit to about 150 amps.
