What are those two rods sticking off the rad?

I'm not sure if these rods are on every FC; but they are on mine. They are attached to the bottom of the radiator by hoses and run along the driver side of the motor. The hoses are attached to a rod shaped thing that just mysteriously ends just above the rear oil line. What are these things? What are they for? They are not hooked up to anything and don't seem to monitor anything. They can't possibly help cool the rad. My vert used to be an auto so maybe that has something to do with it.

Its your tranny cooler for the fluid.. do not remove it.

Replace it with a good cooler and shift much better and faster.

If he had an auto tranny, it would matter

Someone at some point swapped an auto rad into your car, Samps.

the car was an auto when I bought it but not for long. So those were to cool the auto tranny fluid. So I can remove them then? I bet they used to connect to the tranny and when KDR swapped in the manual they just crimped the lines. They just sort of end abruptly right above the rear oil line.

Can I just connect the two lines together? Plugging them seems to be more difficult and risky.

Just leave them alone they have nothing going through them, or just remove them...you don't need to plug them.
