Does your car shake violently when you drive it!?!? If the crank pulley is wobbling at all you've got a problem. Is it tightened all the way? Have you stripped bolts trying to fasten it?

Try putting the other two pulleys on (i.e. power steering, air, and ac back on, see if that helps.

By two other pulleys I mean the others that came off the main pulley set.

Sounds like the pulleys on the main hub were put on wrong. Four small bolts hold the pulleys on the hub.

The hole pattern is such that the holes in the pulley(s) match the holes in the hub only in one positon.

It sounds like the pulley holes were not aligned with the holes in the hub properly and most likely someone wallowed out the pulley holes to match the hub holes. Resulted in what you describe right now.

i need to look and see if someone played with the pulley holes with a drill or something to get them to line up like you said....

Spacer......as in what looks like one large washer with the four bolt holes in it? Goes on last with the bolts going thru it. The holes in the *spacer* should match the ones in the pulley/hub.

Leave it off and use plain washers on each of the four bolts.

Or put the pulley on the hub and align the holes in the pulley with the holes in the hub. Then put a mark of some sort on the twelve o'clock position of the pulley. Like a dab of paint.

Then take the pulley off and hold it in your hands. Align the plate holes with the pulley holes IF they will mate. When the holes align make a matching mark on the plate opposite the twelve o'clock position you made on the pulley.

Now you have a idea where the plate and the pulley should be when the holes in the hub match. So knowing that fiddle around and install the bolts thru the plate and pulley. Mabe even super glue the plate to the pulley prior to install.

The pulley shouldn't wobble once installed and the engine turning over. Don't know what else to say.
