Almost idles but not quite?
If I try to start my car that has been sitting for a couple of years it will turn over but thats about it. If I jump it with another car it will almost idle and somtimes run for a few seconds then quit. Is there anything else I can do to help it along?

Possibly the fuel that was in the gas tank has now turned to turpintine/whatever and or the fuel filter is clogged???
Already checked the gas tank and fuel filter? Good to go? Possibly it's flooding from low compression. You might try pulling the fuel pump plug off, spraying starter fluid into the intake snorkel/duct and trying with a fresh battery. If it consistently starts up using the starter fluid (few brief seconds) then make yourself a fuel cut/disable switch and then reconnect the fuel pump plug and try starting with a combination of the fuel pump switch in the OFF position and using the starter fluid to initiate a start and immediatley after it catches flip the fuel cut/disable switch to ON.
Sounds like you car will start eventually since you have spark. Just don't wear the starter down by cranking excessively.

Is this just because of carbon build up?
I can get the car to idle for a couple of seconds but only like three time and then I have to wait like an hour for it to do it again.

how far are you from 48021, I would be willing to come by and give a hand if its not too far.
or if you want to compensate me on gas I would drive even further, with two people wrenching we could prbably get it figured out in a day.
If you suspect any bad parts let me know I have a ton and probably have what might be bad.
