All you guys with Fluidyne Radiators

Hey guys i just put a Fluidyne Aluminum Radiator on my 91 N/A and i've heard and noticed the stock fan shroud doesnt quite fit without any hacking and modification. A rotary specialist in my area said it is fine to run without the shroud.
I was just wanting to do a little roll call and see who all is running without the shroud and who all has hacked up the shroud to make it fit and what your opinions are. Thanks!

Of course you can run without the shroud.

You will overheat, but you can do it.

My advice, e-fan. Not a simple solution, but one that can work very very effectively. I have a Taurus efan, running on low speed for cooling and high speed with A/C operation. It works great. I have upgraded my alternator to handle the highspeed operation.

I could have simply stayed with the low speed and everything would have worked out fine without the upgraded alternator. I have an all metal aftermarket replacement radiator that is supposedly the equal to the OEM radiator in heat rejection. The Taurus fan on low speed would be especially well suited to your very fine upgraded Fluidyne rad.

The Fluidyne is a direct replacement. That's why it costs more then the other aluminum rads out there. You pay for the convenience of just bolting it in.

Therefore, you should have no issues with the stock shroud or fan.

Well, the stock shroud definetely wont work, trust me... It will fit there in front of it, but theres no way you are going to get the upper radiator hose on without some fabricating. I'm looking into some electric fan options. I should be fine running it in the winter months though i would think right?
Either way thank you for all your help and i'll just look for an e-fan, please any other comments or suggestions you guys have are appreciated/

Winter, lets see, today was 74*. Yesterday was 80*. Winter?! I don't believe in winter. We just have non-summer around Dallas!

I will help you with wiring on the setup and coach you through it if you want.

I've had the Fluidyne on my car for 8 years now. Originally I installed it with the stock shroud and clutch fan. A year or so later, I went to an e-fan because my clutch fan died.
