what about doing that? turning the water into steam before it enters the engine? wouldnt that solve the spark issue?

Hrm. I dont think Id be running alcohol through a rubber pipe around a header... But that steam idea doesnt help with cooling. I'd have to see each platform on a dyno before I went with that.

oh I will get the aftercooler. We're just testing it in phases. Dynoing the results after each stage. The Miata runs quite cool actually and I know the bottom ends to be quite strong. The aquamist helped a lot.

steam has already absorbed the latent heat needed to cool the engine. Steam may turn into superheated water vapor but that heat capacity is extremely lower compared to water (liquid state) which has heat capacity & latent heat
