Sure the problem was the stock alarm???

The stock alarm, honks the horn and flashes the Hazard lights.

The only way for the stock alarm to trigger, is for the door to be unlock from the inside or opened without the key, or the trunk or hood to be opened.

As far as arming, you lock with the interior latch switch, hold the outside door handle up, and close the door. it will arm in less than a minute after that (if you want to use the search function found in the upper right hand corner, you'll be able to find outr more).

To disarm, you simply use the key in the drivers door (or either door on the 88 models).
