AIT sensor position with different elbow
So converted to a fmic and have a ebay special elbow(greddy knock off) and the AIT sensor screws right in but the end of the sensor is flush with the metal not in the air stream at all. driving dosnt seem to be affected at all but big upgrades are right around the corner so question is will this affect anything with the sensor in this location or should i tap and relocate it back in like the factory elbow had it(in the air path).

It really was pretty good quality. bolted right up but where they threw the bung for the ait the aluminum is very thick which makes the sensor not sink in all the way. It was like 65shipped too which is pretty nice too.
but back to the question....
but back to the question....
If you have the stock ECU or Rtek it doesn't matter that much anyway. The stock ECU uses the AIT in the AFM for fuel calculations.

The other AIT sensor in the elbow is mostly used for the BAC valve and the hot start/fuel pressure regulator solenoid. See the fuel and emissions control section of the training manual.

Buy a counter bore and counter bore the hole (from the exterior side, of course) and bore it enough so that when the sensor is installed the doggy will now be in the air stream. You said it was thick metal in that area.
