Air Pump removal

I have been wanting to remove my air pump since I dont have the cats. But doing so, will it affect my idleing. Also if I do chose to do it where can I get the plates to block where it use to be. And I read that I will need a 2 belt pulley. Where can I get that also and is it hard to remove.

I hate to sound like everybody on this site but, search.

Its not hard to do. I have removed mine and idle stayed the same. I got the block off plates from ebay. You can also get a dual belt pulley from ebay. I got mine from higgi (on this forum).

there is a guy on ebay who sells the block off plates. They are outstanding and well worth the money. I beleive he also sells the pulleys but im not sure.
Shouldn't mess your idle up to much with just the air pump pull but i still have my other emmissions stuff *for about a week * so im not too sure about that .

If you make sure you have no vac leaks, having no emissions results in a fine idle..

Eh... First you don't have to actually remove the blocking of the air pump. You can just remove the unit and block one tube. Of course if you wanna do one job, better do it good.
Second: I had problems with idle. I removed the air pump, and my idle is ROCK SOLID.

Get rid of this stupid thing. And BTW, you dont have to buy something special like block plates from space. Relax its so god damn easy to make a plate by yourself or by someone that knows how to handle aluminium...

I put a dual pully on one car and the yahoo belt on another. The yahoo belt doesnt fit all that tight but it works just as good.

Good thread at http://1300cc.com/
