air pump idea????

I had this idea the other day but I know it is probably stupid and wont work but I still want opinions.

my idea was to (after getting rid of the smog system leaving the air pump on the car an running some tubing to the front bumper (intake) and then us the other side of it and connect it to the cold air box in my car. would this do anything for performance and has anyone done this and how did it work. I would hope it had an effect of pressurising the cold air box and work like a ram air thing? What do you guys think?

Who was it that was trying to make the airpump into a supercharger a long time ago? I remember everyone gave that guy such hell.

You can try it. But the airpump only puts out a max of 4psi or something. It has a low cfm rating too. I dont see this working that well..

That's because it's a really dumb idea (compare a regulat supercharger in your head with the airpump....little bit of a difference) and the kid absolutely refused to listen to reason.

i don't think he meant it as a s/c, but just to pump more air to the air intake area to provide more air... probably better to route some ducts instead
