Air Pump to Cat, bypass ACV

i got my first seven week and a half ago, i'm getting ready to get her emission tested. When i got the car it had a racing pipe installed but the seller gave me the cats for emmisions. I however do not have the split air pipe. after some searching i found you can compeltely by-pass the acv and have teh air pump inject air directly into the cat with a rubber hose. I plan on trying that, i jsut had acouple questions.

1) i know where the air pump is, and it has on tube comign out the upper left(facing car) rear that goes to what i think is the acv. to inject directly to the cat can i just disconnect this hose from the acv and connect it to another hose going to the cat?

2) does the acv need to be connected to anything else, my aux ports are already wired opened so i don't need it for that, but i didn't know if there was anything else?

3) I was also concerned about the rubber hsoe on the cat side melting? will the cat get too hot and possibly melt the hose were i fit it over the injection port?

well i'm hoping direct injection and new cat will pass emissions for me if not i can adjust idle and mixture and various things right? i'm brand new to 7's but i wanna learn as much as i can hehe. first thign first i need the car to have metal plates

thanks for your help!
