shaving side moulding??
Anyone shaved and filled your side moulding or had it done? I'm thinking about doing this.
Wondering what the best method would be.
Fiber glass? Body filler? welding metal in?
Any thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

TII 4 SALE!
I Have thouht about it alot, gotten mixed responses really. Regardless of the way you do it, it will be a big and expensive job. The best way I see to do it would be to get a new aftermarket front and rear bumper without side moldings on them, then get a professional to weld in strips of metal over where the old moldings used to be. Using fiberglass body filler and bondo would work, but there is always the chance of them cracking. And say if someone hits your car with their car door, it will probably crack it pretty bad or chunks may even fall out.
FC's look kick *** with no side moldings, but if your going to do it, I say get it done right the first time, and weld metal strips in, and also get new front and rear bumpers. Just my .02. Maybe someone else who has done it with fiberglass can chime in on how well it works.
