air pump

i apologize for the dumb question ahead of time.

My turbo inlet duct cracked and im not paying 256 bucks at the dealer for a new one. Im having problems finding a used one as well. so i was browsing around here for ideas on other peoples intakes. i saw just an aluminum pipe atached to the maf with a cone filter on someones car. my question is what do i do with the air pump hoes that would normally conect to the intake box? do i need to have it hooked up for the car to run right? if anyone has any ideas of what i can use for a turbo inlet pipe please lmk. thank you

Attach one of those tiny filters directly to the airpump inlet, the ones that are normally used as valve cover breather filters or something.

Something like this:

Making a custom TID is pretty easy, all you really need is a bent pipe, a hacksaw and some couplers. I recommend sealing the filter off from the rest of the engine bay though. Take a look at this: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/diy-cold-air-box-830116/
