Unhappy AIr pump and 5th and 6th

On satuday, my alternator belt broke on my fc, i replaced and now my air pump is pulling a weird noise, should i removed or replace it? And if i was to remove it how will i keep the 5th and 6th still operational?

S4 or S5??? Turbo??? Non Turbo???

Chances are if you put a new belt on and the alt or air pump is making odd noises you have the belt way too tight- which will lead to the Alt, Air pump, and Waterpump bearings all failing early.

S5 nonturbo, i do hear an odd noise coming of my air pump, i also happen to install a new alternater about a month ago, i notice the noise for the first time after i installed it, but it was on intervals so i did not pay attention to it. now it is aggrevating. Also, my dad was checking the car and heard it coming for the air pump. What should i do?

well you can't remove the air pump on a S5 non turbo and retain the factory action of the aux ports and VDI system.

You would either need to get another pump or go with an aftermarket pump (such as a corvette/camero/TA electric pump).

I would also double check the belt tension. It (again) sounds like it is too tight. How did you tension the belt??? Did you follow the Mazda deflection recommendations???
