Air Flow Meter Swap?

My brother needs a new mass air flow meter for his 92 MR2 Turbo. Does anyone know if one out of an 86 RX-7 NA will work? The number on the RX-7 afm is 197100-3250 and the one on the MR2 is 197100-3760 if that helps. Thanks!

I highly doubt it. From those numbers it seems they’re from the same family, and may even by externally identical, but the airflow/output relationship is probably different. Unless you can bench test them both to confirm they output the same, I wouldn’t risk it.
