Wink Ah Ha it did work

Well I locked my keys in the 7 twice now so i had enough of it. The beeper that beeps when you leave the lights on or the key in was blown. It was so faint that you could only hear it slightly when its completely quiet. So what did I do? I had a computer bios speaker laying around so i soldered it into the cpu... It worked! So if any of you have that problem just go to radioshack or a computer store and buy a speaker.

Yeah the only time that I did that I found out that somehow I bypassed the whole speaker when I hooked up my fog lights. It was weird.... Also another reason why I won't do electrical work on my car hahahah.

First off nice pic But I have a Honda motorcycle... I hate their cars love their bikes anyway Yea ill do a writeup for ya. First thing you gotta do is find the CPU. Its behind the plastic on the driver-side kick area (left of clutch). Remove the plastic interior and you will find a black plastic box. It is secured with a 10mm nut at the top of the box. Unbolt it and pull out and slide the unit up and out. There are 3 plugs on it. (at least on mine. There might be more on yours.) unplug them. Try not to be too forceful and don't slam the box around. Once you have it out of the car theres a small Phillips head screw on the back. Remove it and theres tabs on the plastic and you have to take a small flathead screwdriver and pry them out. (don't put the screwdriver too far in because the board is right under it and you could damage it.) Once you get the plastic off You will see the Board. Turn it over and with your fingers press on the pins (that the wire harness plugs into) to pop the board out. (Be careful.) Find the speaker. It should look like the speaker in the picture above (the one thats not on the board). You need a solder iron and some solder. Heat the Solder that is on the backside of both prongs on the speaker and pull it out. Then clean off the old solder by heating it. I have a solder remover thing. It looks like an ear cleaner for babies. you can get one at radio shack if you want one. after you clean it off take the new speaker and splice it if you need to and place the wires in the holes. Positive and negative doesn't really matter. Then turn the board over and solder The connections. Cut the wires left sticking out on the backside if there are any. While your at all this you could re solder your whole board if you have any cold solder joints. Heres a link about that: http://www.johnr.com/rx7faq/faq3.html To put it back together just reverse the order you took it apart. Good luck and be careful

Honestly, I don't really know.

No wait, I think it was my amp that messed it up. I hooked the power wire up to a blue? wire in the steering column that got power when you turned on the car. I took that **** out though when I put my car on a diet.

That is not correct.

Positive and negative very much do matter and are clearly marked on the circuit board.

If it beeps you have it right.

And I normally just use a 12 volt buzzer from digikey. There are several that solder right into place instead of using the jumper wires
