aftermarket fpr and lines?

I've seen teds writeup and a few things are confusing to me.

First, using the stock fuel rails and the AN adapters, do the stock fpr and pulsation damper come off? or do you have to cut them off? to put the new fittings on in place of the old fpr and puls. damper?

Also. he has a listing for a Moroso Fuel Distribution Kit (looks like a splitter) and the NOS splitter..... I don't see the Moroso Fuel distribution kit in his diagram.....

I basically just want to make sure I purchase all the right parts the first time so when I get into it, I don't find Im missing something.... Does anyone else have a writeup with actuall pictures and a EXACT list of everything you need to do the mod. I want new stainless lines ran clear from the gas tank to the engine.

Thanks for some help.

I am in the process of doing his writup myself.

Everything unscrews from the fuel rails. One loop hole to this so I have heard is the fact that S5 fuel rails are totally solid. You must buy s4 rails. I'll send you a free t2 s4 primary rail if you give me your addy. Its useless to me.

Also. he has a listing for a Moroso Fuel Distribution Kit (looks like a splitter) and the NOS splitter..... I don't see the Moroso Fuel distribution kit in his diagram...
Forget that moroso thing. Its really larger and the fittings are totally different. Just get the NOS Y splitter. I got it, its really simple.

Thats about all I can say. earls makes pretty nice AN6 to 5/16 pipe fittings. That way you dont have to use tons of hose clamps and bugger up the nice steel line.

OH and be prepaired to put anywhere from $300-$400 into this project. Those darn 90 degree bends are at least 20 bux each.

Might I suggest running AN8 line?? I'ts probably only %15-20 more expensive and flows a lot more.

AN6 its about 5/16 internal diameter, so about the only gain you are getting is smooth lines and the pressure regulator. I would say flow rate will be very close to stock, maybe 20% more but Im no expert.

Why run new stainless lines from the gas tank. They are already metal. That will cost a fair amount. Do you plan on some "really" big fuel mods?

small

The lines from the tank are small.

When I get fully tuned, Ill be pushing close to 330-350rwhp without spray. Im also installing a wet 50 shot nitrous that should push me over 350rwhp so my fuel system needs to support over 400flwhp.

I've got 1100cc secondaries and a nippodenso fuel pump. supports 500+ I figure new lines all the way back would be good.

I would get the AN8 line then.

Also get a Jeggs or Summit Racing catalogg. THey have really good pictures of all the AN fittings you will require.

parts list

Heres my understanding of what I need so far:

any holes?

Summits Racing

Aeromotive FRP AEI-13109 $129.95

NOS Splitter NOS-17835 $29.95

Earls metric adapter# -6AN adapter
# 12mm x 1.25 N/A EAR-991945 $5.95 X 2

Earls metric adapter# -6AN adapter
# 14mm x 1.50 EAR-991954 $5.95 X 2

20ft of -8AN stainless fuel line

If I run -8AN fuel line... will all my adapters need to be -8AN , I don't see those size adapters on summit?

find out if you need the AN8 line. When I bought my stuff at the local shop the guy asked me how much HP I was running. I said TOPS 300rwhp on a turbo rotary engine. He said AN6 is good for about 4-500 on a normal engine. but I really dont know.

Edit: He said the supercharged muscle head V8's usually use AN8 (You know, the muscle cars with half the engine abve the hood????)
