after a lengthy search

i'm trying to install an after market water temp sensor, i've read some really interesting ways to do this but what is the easiest?

my friend was telling me about using the stock one (next to the oil filter) running a wire from there, along the wire harness and to the Aftermarket unit, does this work?

any ideas?

your s5? if you dont mind the stock temp on the cluster not reading then by all mean's use that location. on the 87 you can just drill and tap the filler neck since its aluminum.

I was thinking of tapping the filler neck but was then told that I should find somewhere below the T-Stat.

Read this thread:

I did what NZConvertible did as it is the right way to install the sender.
