afr questions
i have a 88 rx7 se converted to turbo 2 everything with rtek chipped ecu. 720cc primary and 1200 secondary injectors.i have a safc to fine tune it. the afr doesn't go over 12.5 at 8 to 10 pounds of boost in any gear. the question is why would my manifold and exhaust runners look like its been running lean. it even dips into the 10's right when the secondaries kick in. but still has all the signs of it running lean. the innovate wide band is a year old. car has only been driven maybe 30 times for less than 30 minutes at a time. don't drive it much. the sensor is about 2.5 to 3 feet behind the turbo. no cat or anything. has a t04b turbo with 3 inch back custom exhaust. just wondering why it would look to be lean but the wide band is saying different. i just don't want this thing blowing up. let me know what you guys think. thanks ryan

Maybe take a look at the plugs? rtek 1.7 is for 720x720 inj. If it hasn't blown yet, why would you think it is going to? Your probably fine. I would suggest not to turn up the boost tho... unless your AFC is down as far as possible. not sure exactly how AFC's work exactly tho...
FWIW: Even on my stock turbo the turbine had some white-ish soot on it.

i pulled the turbo manifold off today and the exhaust ports werent black they looked like a lean spark plug. i havent pulled the plugs yet.so i should tune it for 11's? and how would u make it work off boost instead of TPS. theres no real problem yet. just wanted to know why the exhaust on the housings and the manifold and the turbo look like a spark plug that has been lean. like a mustard color. not black at all. im trying to save up the money for a stand alone but thats a long time coming. so the safc will have to do for now. i havent had any tuning problems with it so far. i have been adjusting it myself. the car runs flawless. i had it tuned for 15 pounds of boost at 12.5 afr. i turned it down because the only reason i need that much power is to show off. so i turned it back down to 8psi. im 23 and know alot about these cars just didnt know whats going on with this lean looking situation. i dont have the money to purchase a new engine if i pop this one. i mean its a fully built 3mm seals fd corner springs s4 rotors large street port it can handle the power. just wanna make sure u know.

you take the 5 volt source from the boost pressure sensor, instead of 5v from the TPS planty of write ups in the SAFC section, you can tune for high and low boost rather than high or low throttle
honestly man , i would be scared to run my car at 12.5 at 15psi, thats probably why it looks lean, because that is pretty lean. one little glitch or boost spike and its all over
back it down to 11.5, it gives you a nice safety margin.
i dynoed 361whp 309ft-lbs tuning with my AFC neo.
1200cc are not a problem at all, i have 2 x primary 4 x 550cc injectors
dont listen to what fuel corrections other people have it depends on what your motor needs
