Afm Question
Ive got a quick question about my afm. I own a 1987 rx7 gxl na. while engine not running, I unplug the clip going into the afm, and test it to see if i have full voltage, turns out, theres one wire tht plugs in that has a really week signal. My question is, does the afm have any grounds or relays that may send it a weak signal? a wiring diagram for the afm would be great!

Put the key in the ON position (not the run or acc position), then press the flapper in the AFM open and see if the fuel pump turns on. There is a fuel pump switch in the AFM. S5 AFMs do not have a switch in the AFM.
What are the symptoms that you are having?
how do you know you are not getting fuel or that the fuel pump is not turning on?

i knwo im not getting fuel from the fuel because i unhooked the feul line that sends to the engine. i crank the car, and no fuel comes from line, leading me to suspect fuel pump. I test fuel pump and it works.
now, u say the afm switch u are speaking of might be bad?

^ Better Idea. That would mean the ECU is not getting fuel either which means he is not getting spark either right?
The fuel pump switch in the AFM almost never goes bad, there is really nothing to go bad unless the contacts get dirty. I pulled 2 AFMs apart and both AFMs had perfectly clean contacts.

The ENGINE fuse powers the fuel pump and the Main Relay, which in turn powers the injectors, coils and ECU. So if it's blown the engine will do nothing but crank endlessly.

lol thanks guys, i got my car started. turns out that when i was checking the ENGINE fuse, i noticed a wire hoooking up to my fuse box, which hooked to the fuel pump. some guy bypassed all the relays, and just hooked the fuel pump up to the fuse pump. lots of time wasted for me, trying to track down all the relays.
