Question AFM fuel pump cut-off override 600HP CLUB look...

I have a simple question:

What wires do I bridge together inside the AFM to override the fuel pump cut-off? I have some broken connection in there and I cant get the car to stay started.

Someone was talking about this in this thread https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=177125

Its an S4 T2, Any help would be great. Thanks -Evan

Ugh... Do you mean the yellow connector? Its not on the AFM and it doesnt override fuel pump cut off, it primes the fuel system (IE: Makes it run when it shouldnt). Its a yellow connector (the only yellow connector) at the base of the passanger strut tower. Get a wire, crimp a spade connector on each end of it and plug it in. Only needs to be 2in or so long.

Do you know what the AFM is? Because thats what im talking about.

If you look inside the AFM and on the link that I have in my post up above then you would know what I'm talking about. There is a bridging procedure to disable the fuel pump cut-off INSIDE the AFM. Mine is broken and I need to fix it.

Thanks for the help but thats not the answer I needed at all.

Incorrect, the yellow plug does override the safety switch in the AFM. The safety switch is there to switch off the fuel pump if there's no airflow. This stops fuel pumping out of broken fuel lines after an accident. If you need to prime the fuel system you have to jumper the plug first, because normally the fuel pump won't run unless the engine's being cranked or is running (i.e. airflow through the AFM).

GTIguy, jumper the yellow plug as dr0x has said, this will allow the fuel pump to keep running. However, as explained above this will override an important safety feature, so this should only be a temporary measure until you repair or replace your AFM. Don't permanently disable the switch!

Thank you. This answers my question if indeed it does override the AFM's circuit telling the fuel pump not to shut down (if there is no airflow).

However, looking at the diagram in the link above, you see there is a way to jumper the connections together to disable the fuel pump cut-off. This thread was just confirming which connections to jumper.

Thank you for the answer it sounds like it will do the trick. -Evan

If you take the black cover off the afm, you'll see the guts. You will see, that when you move the vane of the afm, a switch is made as long as the vane is displaced off its stop. It is possible to move the contacts together inside the afm so that the circuit *makes* all the time.

But you don't want to do that according to your thread. You want to jump two wires. Those two wires are NOT inside the afm. They are the two wires shown in your diagram that you posted. In other words, if you look directly into the jack on the afm, it is the two wires to the far left that you would jumper together. See how they enter the afm and meet at a switch???? Yes.

BUT.....don't do that. If you jumper the two wires in the fuel pump check connector, as described in the above posts, you accomplish the same thing as cutting the two wires I just described and joining them together. So if you do cut and jumper those two wires on the left end of the afm,......don't tell anybody so you can keep your self esteem. That's for a series four car/engine/harness.

It would be the two wires on the far left. The ones going to Fc and E1.

I swear I did not dredge it up. It was there when I logged on. I think a moderator put it there.

What's this *spanking fetish* bs????? Sounds like you two log on to other sites than this one. Maybe some S + M sites? Yeah, that's what it is. Shame on y'all.
