Afm

I just called my local mazda dealer and tried to get a afm for my 88 and they gave me a quote of $1200 for a reman. Does that sound right? I could get a emanage installed for half that and eliminate it.

Yeah I know the local wrecking yards are all fresh out of rx7s and so I thought I would just check on what a new one costs.

A new AFM will cost you quite a bit. A refurbished one will be slightly less but your better off looking in the parts section and get an AFM from a parts car. I got one awhile back for $50.

Is there any way to eliminate it that won't cost me a arm and a leg?

No.

Even the high-priced Mazdatrix ones only cost ~$900 for new.

They usually sell for MUCH cheaper (used, but good condition) in the For Sale section on this Board.

I found a used one from someone on craigslist. it was 25. I heard you can use one off a miata like early 90's ones but I heard they run lean.
