adding power steering to a car with no PS stock?

haha. I know a lot of you like to remove the power steering, but I don't care. I've got power steering in my AE86, and I really like it. and at the race track, it sucks without power steering, because the steering wheel takes so much effort when cornering hard... especially with the amazing cornering of my FC.

I'm not 100% sure yet, but I'll decide for sure once its driving again.

well, anyway. enough about why I want power steering. but... what does it take to put it in? I was thinking it'd be really easy to just bolt it up, but then I remembered there's a wire from the ECU that's for the power steering.

so, should my car already have the electrical connections for power steering, even though it didn't have PS from the factory? or will I need to custom wire it? and besides that, should everything just bolt up?

If it doesn't have ps, then there are no wires...Take it from someone who tried...I gave up on it..Now that it was to diffcult but the amount of time and effort involved...the racks and all bolt up just fine--its the electronics that become a pain...remember that the ps is speed sensative (or rpm sense if you have a S5 base)...the rpm rack lacks (that rhymes) a location for a line that is on the speed sense rack....etc....So here's what you need: Speed sense rack, speed sense pump and all the lines (S4 or S5), ps computer, FSM wiring diagram (so you know what wires to hook up), some wire and tools for job, and a beer (if you legal of course)! I think thats all....

hmm... sounds like it might be fun

well, hopefully when my car is running again, the steering won't feel to bad, but if it does, well, I'll be attempting it.
thanks for the info.
