Actaul weight of ps/ac removal!

Well I saw estimates as high as 100lbs and estimates as low as 25 lbs and being of a very curious nature and seeing that I am atm removing the ac/ps/and emssions I thought I would put a stop to the debate once and for all. I boxed all of the parts from the ac/ps system that were removed in the process and the grand total was 58.5 lbs! So there you have it!

I'd really like to know how much that weighs too, and also the heating unit, because my car doesn't have those anymore

I don't think legality would be a problem... it'd just be impossible to drive when it gets real cold.... so I won't be able to drive in the winter

I currently drive without the heater core. The cold isn't always the problem. Sometimes the windows will fog up real bad. The windows don't fog up because of the cold though. They fog up from the moisture in the car. Rainy days are undriveable in my car. Cold days are driveable, if you don't mind opening the window every now and then to even the inside/outside temperature. Pulling the heater core is acceptable when you can live with your windows down in any type of cold weather. That it includes rain, snow, sleet and hail.

I didn't pull my heater core, I bought it that way. I will be putting the heater core back in by next winter. Its one part of your car that can actually save your life in more than one way. I will definitely being putting it back in.

I would guesstimate the heater core at 15 pounds. If you were going to pull the AC and heater core, you could pull the blower and thermostat controls also.

If you can handle a little more rotary and tire sound, the tar under the carpet is worth about 35 pounds.

you use dry ice to freeze it adn then just hit it with a hammer, large chunks should fall off hopefully

the problem to leaving the outlet and inlet lines open on your rack is that there isnt any fluid in the rack to lubricate everything inside. No oil+gears=increased wear. and dirt and other impurities can get inside the rack as well and make it deteriroate even faster. -alex

for the handful of times I have had to drive my car when the windows are fogged up. I used a squegee to clear the windows off. after about 5 mins of driving the windows should stop hazing up the windshield. drving with a window down or partly down during those 5 mins helps too.
