Accelerator problem.. hesitation

Hey guys right now my dad and I are working on my fc. Everything works fine at the moment except for one thing, and that is the acceleration. When I start the car up it works and idles nicely, but when I press on the gas the acceleration just hesitates and won't pass 2k. Right now my dad assumes it is the ecu, but I was wondering could it be something else? We also changed the fuel pump and air flow meter control valve. Any advice would be great. Thanks
Also I might get a video of this situation if I can find my camera.

could be a clogged cat, or maybe the sock filter on the fuel pump, but if you replaced the pump I would assume you replaced the sock filter as well.... so I'm going to say clogged cat maybe?

Clogged cats don't cause hesitations...

The ECU is the last thing I'd look at. The first things that should be looked at are the regular maintenance items, the fuel filter (the high pressure one in the engine bay) and the spark plugs in particular.

You should always mention what year and model is when asking for technical help.

I guess I was addressing the "won't go past 2k" part
