ABS on tii????

**** my dam ABS is ******* up, I get some mad skid when I stomped on the brakes. So i got the ABS computer thingy out and chucked it. I replaced the brake line on the right rear brakes, **** its ****** long. Car feels much better now w/o ABS, kinda like my n/a.

I was reading the manual the other day and it said that if your ABS ***** up the warning light will come on and the brakes will just act like normal brakes without ABS

As far as I know, ABS was standard on the s5 TII... My ABS light occassionaly comes on, maybe once a month, but I haven't gotten down there to check it out yet. Does anybody know what the most common failure is/was for the ABS system? I'm going to need to start looking into this.

my S4 turbo came with the optional leaking abs pump and I'm missing the paint to prove it.

there are 2 relays on the pump itself (under a plastic cover) they seem to fail intermittantly.

go about 40mph, jack on the brakes, if you lock up the tires, no ABS

The ABS pump is in the passenger's side firewall area...if there's no pump there, you don't have ABS. I'm glad my car didn't come with it...I would have just taken it off anyway.

TurboIIRacer: ABS was invented in the mid '20s. At least there were patents of inventions for mechanical variations of ABS back then. Electronic ABS systems came out in the '70s. They were already on many cars by 1987.

One of these days I'll get rid of my ABS. I never liked ABS. It has it's place, but not in my 7. I took the fuse out ages ago.

Is the TII ABS single channel? I would assume it is, and that's a pain in the ***. (all 4 brakes pump even if only 1 is locking up)

if you had ABS, you would know it by looking in your engine bay. It's a friggin' huge setup. It blocks access to the ACV when you're trying to work on the passenger side of the engine.
