ABS spindle vs. Non-ABS spindle
Other than the ear mark for the sensor, and the lack of abs hardware, is there any other difference between an abs spindle and non abs? I took a look at Mazdatrix and it seems the bearings and hubs are all the same part. So I'd assume, theoretically, if I needed to, I could disconnect the abs on the passenger side and use a non abs spindle on the driver?
I'd say they are interchangable as the S4/S5 have the same number only the S5 Turbo different. Just like the rear toe control hub/spindle. They are all the same S4/S5 ABS or no ABS.

Thanks for the info guys.
What would be different about the S5 Turbo? When I looked on Mazdatrix, 86-92 all had the same parts for the hubs, bearings, seals, etc. So I'd assume a S4 Base Spindle would work with an S5 TII ( minus the abs ).
Just trying to figure out my options. I got a non abs spindle and need to know if I can make that work on my S5 Turbo until I can get a abs spindle.

Steering kunckle:

Maybe the Mitchell manual didn't take that into consideration on teh S4 as it was optional.

If you find a deal on an ABS spindle to replace one a non-ABS spindle, you probably shouldnt bother. Your brake caliper will NOT bolt up. I just tried to do this, and now I'm left either needing to grind off the ABS part of the spindle, or find a new NON ABS spindle...
For those with ADD.... You CANNOT swap an ABS spindle onto a NON ABS car without GRINDING THE EXTRA METAL OFF.
