I think only some(or all I'm not sure) TIIs came with abs. My 91 vert did not come with abs. I was interested in adding an aftermarket abs system at one point but then I just gave up. It seemed like way to much work and I can do a decent enough job with my foot on the brake pedal.

You can check the "What they came with" FAQ at the top of the threads.

Not certain if any aftermarket systems are currently being produced, but I say avoid aftermarket "add-on" anti-lock brakes as there aren't any that are effective and some are outright consumer rip-offs. Only the electronic, factory installed, anti-lock brake systems are effective at stopping vehicles in the way the systems are designed.

ABS is useful when needed, but must say on my '89TII (purchased new), the system only came on once when one the rear wheel was elevated slightly after stricking a "bump" in the road during a hard stop. The car however isn't driven in inclement weather.
Our Jeep Grand Cherokees have had the ABS operate quite a few times in the snow, and naturally, it has been extremely helpful.

Just make certain the brake components and tires are in good condition and go from there.

are you unable to find the Standard Features and Options sticky thread, found at the top of this, the 2nd gen technical section???

I guess so

So since you are unable to find that thread at the top of this section the answer is:
Only the following models in the USA came standard withe ABS:
89-91 Turbo

On the following USA models ABS was optional:
87-88 GXL
87-88 Turbo

No other models had ABS standard or as an option.

Again, if you had read the Standard Features and Options sticky thread, found at the top of this, the 2nd gen technical section you would hjave found this out for yourself, and had your answer considerably quicker as well as wouldn't have to worry about people telling you the wrong thing.

Yes thank you i saw that yesterday, at this point my question is no longer if it came stock, my question was if there was an aftermarket system that could be installed or if you can get the system off the TII to install on the vert
