Question About starting?

My engine starts perfectly while ago. Now, when i turn the key to start it, it would click, click, click wouldn't start, then i have to repeat the steps couple of times and it starts. Is this normal?

Sometimes, when i lay my foot on the clutch, put in the key, try to start it, and it wouldn't start. However, when i put the key in the ignition, turn it to ll on, put my foot on the clutch and it starts..Weird..

thanks for reading...

what steps?

BTW - clickclickclick means your battery is probably low or possibly bad/dirty connections on the starter

as far as your clutch depression, key turning thing goes.......are you SURE you had the clutch right down to the floor?

Well if the clutch wasn't fully pressed to the floor ( I hate that word depressed makes me think of something coming up not pressing down) it would not click at all there would be nothing. I had a similar problem a while ago and it turned out to be a combination of old crappy battery, and corroded terminals. I replaced both and it works fine now. Check your battery and battery connections.

same problem here, couldnt get the car started for 2 weeks already. last time i hear one click then i try to turn the key again and press the clutch the whole way and it would start but 2 weeks ago im not too lucky, i dont even get a click anymore. my lights turn on though.

i brought the starter to an automotive parts store to test it and it was ok....

not sure about the battery yet but ill quote you guys on that.
