Hey guys, im looking for you suggestions, im looking to do a JDM 13bt swap on my 91 N/A and like anyone else, im trying to spread my dollar as far as possible. Well i've heard that Japan2La is the most reputable for rotary imports so i contacted him and he quoted me 1800 something shipped which i felt was a little steep seeing how a friend of mine was quoted that for a 3rd gen turbo 2 motor.

Anyways i did some searching and im finding complete motor and tranny swaps on ebay from importers guranteed at 20k-60k miles for around 1300 shipped, quite a bit of difference.. i was just looking for your input and suggestions, maybe some advice from others who have been down this road.

 

The cheap pay twice.

 

I was looking at those when I was doing my swap. You pay a little more for Japan2LA, but IMO if your going to buy a jdm motor I'd buy it from him. My S5 engine runs beautiful aside from my vac leak I've been trying to track down. Compression is awesome. I did a lot of checking feedback and googling on other importers and found a lot of people get junk rotories because most of them know nothing about them.
