AAS an upgrade?

I know that many people simply eliminate the AAS because the system will quickly wear out. I, however have a set of AAS shocks that are new, the computer, and the switch in the panel. I could also get the master cylinder, but is it really needed?

So the question is, since i have RB springs on my 10th AE, would i notice a difference by installing the AAS? I am the type who loves neat little obscure factory options, and the idea of adjusting the suspension at the press of a button is just plain awesome. What do you guys think?

I bought my first 2nd gen RX-7 in 1993.

The AAS worked and it wasn't that big of a deal.

Far from "awesome."

The light in the keyhole impressed me more at the time.

lol thats great. Im thinking because the racing beat springs the shocks will have more of an effect? Could they make the switching feel more noticable?

It's quite possible that the RB springs will make a noticeable difference. I liked the idea of AAS also... until I turbo swapped and changed the ECU. I will consider buying Tein coilovers and using their EDFC system. (Electronic Dampening Force Controller)

What do yo mean? Will the system not work with a turbo II ECU? Im gonna be using it on my 10th AE, which is an 88 turbo N333 ECU. I thought its completely managed by the box next to the spare tire well? I did consider the EDFC, but cost is the real limiting issue. Besides, I like the ease of use that the AAS offers is unmatched. I dont want to attract attention with the Tein EDFC box in sight either.

All I know is that I cannot use the AAS with the N332 ECU that I have. I was under the impression that you couldn't use it with a TII ECU.

I checked out a link in the FAQ, posted by IceMark, that shows that TII's didn't come with AAS.

Look about half way down each page, check all of the specification sheets:

Series 4
Series 5

I'd like to be able to use my aas switch to control between 2 different preset settings on an edfc that is hidden somewhere. I think that'd be neat.

yea i totally agree with you. I think adding the AAS should be like adding power windows or something like that. I was under the impression all that needs to be done is the controller. Since the harness already has the plugs for it all. I know it didnt come with it, but since it has the hookups, theoretically you could just plug and play...
