AAS suspension
AAS suspension
Ok, so here's my first question as a newb to the RX7's. I have a GXL which comes with AAS (automatic adjustable suspension), what kind of suspension can I get and keep this option?
Yup with out the little motors on the top it doesn;t work. and only the stock struts work with them. For what mazda wants to replace the whole setup you could probably go with the tein auto adjust coilovers. Figure about $1800 for the tein setup.
Sorry...
Sorry...
the $1800 is for incredibly good aftermarket coil overs. BUT the dealer ships are really, really over priced for the stock ones. So i was just saying.
I checked the manual and it doesn't apear to have a way to test the AAS motors. and AFAIK you need the struts to go with them. You should call a dealer and ask for prices....
Get some KYB AGX on ebay brand new for under $500 they are adjustible but you gota get outa the car

I thought you ment $1800 for stock... I know how much a good aftermarket suspension can cost. I might go with the Tein system or get another car to keep my fiancee happy. I think I might be able to manage my suspension, wheels, and brake system this year. Next year will have to be the year of the 13B-RE!!!
Actuall if you call for stock to replace all four struts, plus the motors which like i said you cant test. I bet it'll be close to that.
Just checked, $800 for stock struts for aas at mazdatrix. Cant find motors.

its best just to delete the AAS and go with coilovers of your choice.
If you like the AAS feature and want it to work, go and get the Tein EDFC suspension. it'll cost about the same as trying to get stock OEM replacements for the AAS.

The AAS is currently working on the car. I know this because you can deffinantly tell the differance in stiffness. I think I might go with the EDFC system, for when the finace rides along.
