92 vert interior and top questions for comparision
Ok now to avoid any confusion I did not make a typo and I did mean 92, 1992 vert.
I am just looking for any pics of the interior and the tan top. And any numbers of how many were produced.
I have been searching around and only a coupe of threads came up, and most of those where people arguing if it was real or not. And not alot of results, google has also failed me. I am mainly trying to figure out what all parts of the interior are tan and what parts are not. Also any other cosmetic differences. I plan on either trying to find the top or have it made, and recover my seats but would like to have it all sent off at one time to get covered at the same time if I can.
this is the only pic I have but I need as many as I can get. And especially any of the 92s in white with a tan top if they even came in white with tan.

I really like that tan, natural leather. That looks like a custom job. The seats and door inserts match, but contrast so strongly with the rest of the interior. Are you saying that the top was tan also? In that pic the top appears to be black, along with the car and the rest of the interior.
I like it; I just wonder if the factory did this.
The 92's were really just left over 91's. Those interior combos and top colors ere not listed in the faq for the 1991's, that does not necessarily mean they did not exist. Maybe there was some customization done to help move inventory? Dealers get pretty creative at times. I notice that the seats in your pic are not perforated leather. I believe that the factory leather was perforated, so this looks custom to me.
Good luck in your quest. Hope you aren't looking for a unicorn.

I think that leatherseats.com will sell you hides to match the seat color. You could get seats made in tan and then cover the door inserts to match. Kinda killer if it matched a tan top.
AAbestco will do a tan top. You can do this if you want to spend the money. If you do, post pics.
Good luck, hope you find what you are looking for.

It came from factory that way. 92 came with that interior but I have not seen any pics other than that one and one that I cannot locate now of the exterior with the tan top up.

Icemark, you don't have any other pics do you. Or other information. I may be incorrect but did the s5s have the door speakers in the same location as the S4 or were they moved or put behind the door panel, or is this unique to the 92 either not being there or behind. All of the reference is the couple of pics I have and they are not to good. Any help would be much appreciated. Also am I understanding you correctly that they were only produced in black.
Rob, Ive been looking at a few different pics, again non are good, but I cant tell. If they are I would look into getting one, but until then I will enjoy the goodness of my nardi leather and wood wheel.

I've seen a few other pics of the 92 vert. I believe 87GTR posted some up a while back showing the tan top in the up position. Apparently in japan all the 92 verts had those gold BBS wheels instead of the regular ones we see here.
Personally I don't like the tan that much, but it does make the car stick out more.
Oh and those seats are perforated leather and came from the factory that way. Look very closely at the pics and you can tell the leather is perforated but its hard to tell after the pics have been resized etc.

its now purring
- it needed a new ecu at the end of the day - and its only done 5000 miles on a full rebuild - i will see what other pics i have of it

The 89 may have been different. I say this because the 1989 FSM that is online shows the speaker arrangement that is typical for the S4 vert. The door speaker is labeled as the 'door woofer speaker'.
