91 vert window regulator fix, HELP
Door pannel off. Old motor unbolted. Window up. Old regulator in place. Replacement regulator 1/2 way up.
Looks like I need to get the window down to unbolt from glass/frame from regulator bracket.
can I unbold the glass from the regulator? Block up the glass. Then remove and replace the regulator?
What now?
What about alignment?

I just did this, and will have to do it again when I find a regulator that works. I brought the window down far anough to get the socket in the little hole that looks like it was put there in case you need to unbolt it. As easy as it was to take out, I just took the glass out and laid it somewhere safe. Seemed to make it easier for me.
Window down?
I can not get the plate out the top of door to remove glass just unbolting the bottom of the plate from the regulator carrier.

The FSM said to have window 9 inch up from bottom.
Stoppers and everything are hidden because the window is all the way up.
I need to move the regulator carrier down with no power.
Any secrets to moving window with no power...take the motor cable drive apart and move cable?

More window
I lowered the glass. removed cover on cable drum and used vice grips to wind down window.
Removed the nut holding the regulator at the bottom.
Removed the lock nuts on the adjustment studs on top of regulator.
Screwed the studs out and removed them...a little force required.

OK, here you go...
Rather than fill in the blanks, here's what you do.
Carefully, remove the clear plastic enough to expose the bolts and rear large access holl. Work slowly pulling where the black adhesive attaches. You want to put it back on as it is a moisture barrier to the car's interior.
Drop the window down halfway, remove the two bolts that hold the window to the bracked (excellent picture above).
Remove the two "stop plates". Before you remove, take a grease pencil and draw a circle around there the bolts are tighteded. That will let you avoid hit and miss so these stops are aligned correctly.
Pull out the window, will need a little extra tug, but will slide out the two guides.
Remove the (as I recall) 4 bolts that hold the regulator. You'll need to use an open end wrench so you can hold the adjustment screw in place.
Remove the (as I recall) 3 bolts that hold the motor.
Remove the two wire electrical plug.
Work the regulator assembly out the rear large access hole.
Installation is simply the reverse. Before you put in the replacement regulator, try and set the two adjustment screws to reflect as much as possible the one's on the old regulator. Be careful not to loose this adjustment as you tighten the bolts as you install.
Be sure and grease up the little wheels before you slide them back into the guides when you go to reinstall the window.
Last thing you do is re-install the two stop plates. If you forgot to draw the circles, then hopefully there is a round scar where the bolts were tighteded originally.
If you were carefull, then you shouldn't have to adjust. But, to be sure, roll up the window and look to see that it lays evenly against the soft rubber seals. If not, then screw in or out the two adjustment screws on the regulator as needed.
