91 vert highbeams don't work

hello, i have a 91 vert that is having issues. the highbeams will not come on. the ftp works fine but does not flash highbeams, i jumped the highbeam relay and the highs work so the bulbs are fine. i took the highbeam/turn signal switch apart and it works fine and the relay seems to work ok, but not 100percent sure on the relay so i am assuming it is the latch circut in the insterment cluster, i tried a different one from a 90 gtu but no difference, the highs flicker on then off when i pull back on the switch. is there a way to repair the latch circut or do i need to find a rebuilt or new one? yes i did a search and found the same problem but no anwsers. thanks

I replaced the headlight control switch assy & the associated wire harness.
Got REAL lucky on the control assy: $45 on eBay. The harness I took in the butt @ dealer.
90 vert w/ airbag.
This **** is known to fry out...

On the verts with the SRS, if the highbeams don't stay latched then either the switch or the CPU is bad.

ahh, you mean the cpu next to the interior fusebox icemark? the highbeam switch seems fine, i took it apart and cleaned it and it is making contact so im pretty sure it is working. I thought it was that it would not stay latched if the headlight control was damaged. are the cpu's interchangable among s5's b/c i have a 90 gtu parts car i could get one from or do i need a vert specific one?

Verts with SRS require a dedicated vert only CPU
