Yeah I can believe it. There was a 400 horsepower Saturn in a very old issue of SCC. That saturn was the old two doors, that thing could smoke the tires. However, i still find it hard to believe that a Saturn FWD, beat a Rx7 with that set up (RWD) I used to drag race a 69 Camaro, i ran against a 93 Rx7 and nearly got beat...so i know they are not slow...but anything is possible with $

P.S. I was slow off the Tree..my reaction time for that race was so poor i dare not post it. But i caught up and killed him, it was at a test and tune day so we were running against anyone in the other lane

My camaro did 8.59 @170

I can believe it. I have a buddy with a turbocharged Neon that can blow the doors off of pretty much anything that isn't modified all to Hell and back.

My friend I raced had a brand new Si and he only ran a 16.35

A turbo saturn could have defintitly done it, so I believe him.
But with only 8psi though, that makes me doubt it.

One in particular that I know of definitely is. When he gets his FMIC and bigger turbo installed and tuned with the stand alone ECU he's wiring in right now it'll be even more of a V-8 killer.

I have no problems dusting anything short of a new Cobra or a 'Vette in my crusty old Dodge Daytona.

kthxdie

Apparently somebody does. At the end of a project like that I'm sure the owner of said vehicle looks back at all the money he spent and wished that he bought a different car. ...I know the owner of the Neon I'm speaking of in this thread wishes he had done that.

Its just amazing the amount of money some people are willing to spend on a car that isnt made to go fast.....lol.....i didnt mean to **** you off......ive just learned in my life that some cars just arent worth it.....and if you try, it becomes very expensive.....and if that TII were to spend a fraction of the money that the saturn guy did, he'd blow him away.....and i have yet to see a fast saturn.....just a lot of rice.......

It's funny how some of these cars that aren't made to go fast become very competitive in the hands of somebody who knows exactly what they're doing. When it comes to the engine big power always comes at a steep price, it doesn't matter what the application is.

It's easy to discriminate in drag racing, but when it comes to overall performance it doesn't take much to build something as lowly as a Civic hatch that can easily outperform one of our beloved FC RX-7's.

Sorry for the rant, I'm not pissed off or anything... just felt like saying that.

I think it's really a shame when people say **** like Bebesito21 just said. There's no such thing as a car that isn't made to go fast, only cars that people just settle for. I've seen my share of fast Neons, never seen a fast Saturn but I know they're out there. I also find it funny as to what you people (sry to most of you who are my friends...but it's true) is fast and quick. If a car doesn't do 0-60 in less then 7 seconds it isn't fast. I beg to differ, slow isn't even 10 seconds (how fast can you run?). You should really think before you judge a car. How many of us (okay so I have) have actually driven something that's truly fast for instance a Viper or Ferrari? Not many...people shouldn't be so critical when it comes to speed (I'm sure some of my european friends know what I mean, the only culture that I know of that isn't like that) and what they think is fast. Oh yea another thing...there's a lot more ricer's out there than there are true car people, remember that...and not every lime green car is a rice mobile.
