You'll need:
* special adapter harness to go between the stock ECU and stock main ECU harness
* A/D converter circuits to change the mostly analog voltage circuits to digital ones so the laptop / PC can "read" them
* custom software to make sense of all the mess

No, I am not aware of anyone that offers such a package.
If you're talented enough, you could build this on your own.

I think that based on what RETed said, a standalone would probably be the same price or cheaper, all things considered. Also, on another note, RETed, could you pm me a full size pic of your avatar?

Okay, so, being that I searched everywhere I could think of, and this thread has served its purpose, I guess I'll ask a different question. Has anyone done a comparison on the various standalone systems available for our cars and their abilities and downfalls, and what system is the most "plug and play" for our cars (i.e. not having to get another system to handle the trailing plugs or something along those lines)?

Okay, so, being that I've done some research while waiting for replies, as well as finished a school project, I have found out that the reccomended route is the Haltech E6X for our cars. I can have the stock computer remapped, but for ~$600. I can also go for the Apexi S-AFC 2, but that's ~$300 and that only gives limited tuning ability, as well as keeping the engine running in open loop except when crusing, just like the remapped ECU.

I have also learned alot about the fuel and ignition controls available for this setup, and I like what I see. The question now is: They reccomend a 4-wire haltech O2 sensor. Can I use a WB o2 sensor and use that info for the closed loop operation of my car? Also, if I can, is it reccomended?

Also, sorry mods if you feel that this should be in the engnine managment section, but I felt that this is info that applies to alot -probably most- 2gen 7's out there and their owners.

Technically, an O2 sensor is not needed.
For specific wideband O2 sensor questions, check the specific EMS sections - it's been covered before.
