'90 GTU Electrical Prob (no start)
While driving home in the rain tonight, my stereo blipped off and my engine seemed to die, but it started right back up again before the car could slow. About 5-10 minutes later, the same thing happened; this time the engine died totally and would not start.
No noise from the starter or engine when I turn the ignition.
At first it seemed like the alternator... weird thing is, the lights (headlights, parking lights, tail lights, dash lights) work, but the stereo and everything else does not come on when I turn the ignition to ACC. This stuff did work in my '88 GXL when the alternator died.
I'm not near the car, it's still raining like hell outside, and my factory manual is at work. When it clears up I'll be able to go out and take a look... until I can look at the car and some wiring diagrams, where would you suggest I start? My '88 never had electrical problems and I didn't mess much with it, so I'm not too familiar with the electrical system in our cars.

Found a thread (https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=40440) which sounds very similar to my problem. It was fixed at the cluster of switches near the fuse box, single wire in a single plug from the key switch harness to the fuse box harness.
Nothing in the thread mentioned dying while driving; would this cause my problem as well?

i reckon, check the easy stuff first. (althought you probably have)
check all the main fuses in the fuse box in the engine bay, make sure theres no water causing a short anywhere (since it was raining and some rx7s have a water leak where water goes into the dash), then go ahead and check the wires in the thread u found. looks like the same problem
